How it works

A TV remote app that connects on the first try.

10s

From download to volume up.

RemotApp finds TVs on your Wi-Fi by itself. Tap yours, accept on the TV screen, done. No codes to look up, no account.

0

Times you’ll hit “reconnect”.

Most remote apps drop the connection when your phone locks. RemotApp reconnects before your thumb reaches the button.

FAQ

TV remote app: questions, answered.

Does it work with my TV?

If it’s a smart TV from Samsung (2016 or newer), LG with webOS, any Roku TV or Roku player, a Google TV / Android TV (TCL, Sony, Philips, Xiaomi, Hisense, Chromecast with Google TV and others) or an Amazon Fire TV, yes. Older TVs without Wi-Fi work by infrared on Android phones that have an IR blaster.

Does my phone need an infrared blaster?

No. RemotApp talks to your TV over Wi-Fi, so it works on any iPhone or Android phone on the same network as the TV. Infrared is an extra for older TVs, on Android phones that have it.

Can it turn the TV on?

Many TVs can be turned on over Wi-Fi if a “turn on with mobile” or “fast start” option is enabled on the TV. Our brand guides show where that setting is. Some TVs cut the network when off; in that case, nothing can turn them on over Wi-Fi.

Is it free?

The basic remote (power, volume, arrows, channels) is free. RemotApp Pro unlocks the keyboard, the app launcher, unlimited photo and video casting and more than one TV. Control Center, widgets and Apple Watch are coming soon.

Do I need an account?

No. There’s nothing to sign up for, and your TVs are saved only on your phone.

Is RemotApp made by Samsung, LG, Roku or Google?

No. RemotApp is an independent app by Garra Labs and is not affiliated with any TV manufacturer. Brand names are used only to describe compatibility.
